Carpooling service

Facilitating door to door mobility on the go

SNCF R&D hired Attoma to design a dynamic carpooling service, available to travelers to organize their lifts in real time during their journey.

Attoma identified the touch points of the client experience and designed an architecture based on the interaction between a mobile web service and terminals located in train stations. Offers can be checked using Flash codes which are scanned with a cell phone. After finding a match, options on the mobile website make it possible for drivers and passengers to contact each other to arrange details for the journey.

For this project, Attoma defined the service visual identity, designed Human-Machine Interfaces, as well as the terminal itself.

SNCF Proximités experiments this carpooling service in Houdan (commune in the Île-de-France region) for the 2011 European Mobility week, which is a mass-awareness campaign highlighting sustainable and responsible modes of transport.
